Project Description: The project is a 3,200-square-foot, six-bedroom, three full baths, and two half baths, renovated 1899 Victorian Craftsman Bungalow house with a traditional front porch situated in the heart of the historic district of Ditmas Park, an immaculately preserved neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.  The homeowners, a young professional couple with two toddler-aged children, are former investment bankers turned founders of Without A Trace Foods, a startup manufacturing allergy-free snacks. The home was carefully curated in an approachable and casually chic aesthetic to meet the lifestyle needs of this busy modern family. This project was an eclectic study in how to converge our client’s love of color and pattern with mid-20th-century style and Far East influences (some of which were inherited by the husband’s family).  They have a budding modern art collection, which includes ‘sentimental art’, street vendor art, pop art, limited edition photography, as well as the wife’s own photography work.  Special features include refurbished original stained glass windows, a wood-burning fireplace, a bright remodeled kitchen that gazes over the backyard garden courtyard and leads seamlessly into the formal dining room, a finished English basement converted into a recreation media/family room and play space, a stunning wide stairwell and second-floor landing, the primary bedroom suite streaming with natural light from a wall of bay windows, and playful moments of fun wallpaper installed throughout the home.
